While donating these shirts can be great, you can also give them new life in your home by repurposing them into various household items&#8211; functional or decorative alike.<\/p>\n<p>Make a shag\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mollykaystoltz.com\/t-shirt-shag-rug-tutorial\/\">carpet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can turn your old t shirts into a nice rag rug. A number of sites have instructions on how to put this together, and depending on how much labor you want to put into it, you can make a<a href=\"http:\/\/mollykaystoltz.com\/t-shirt-shag-rug-tutorial\/\"> simple rug<\/a>\u00a0or a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.craftaholicsanonymous.net\/how-to-make-a-rag-rug-by-everyday-art\">time consuming<\/a>\u00a0one. The basic gist of it is this:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cut up your old t-shirts into lots and lots of 1 inch x 5 inch strips.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Get an XL t shirt perforated with holes or a non-skid rug mat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Thread the strips through the holes until the rug is as thick as is desired.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Enjoy your new rug!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Turn an old t shirt into a cute\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/rabbitfoodformybunnyteeth.com\/diy-multi-strand-scarf\/\">scarf<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cut off the hem of your t shirt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Cut the body of the shirt into strips 3\/4 of an inch wide to create a number of loops.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Stack the loops on top of each other so that the t shirt seams are in the same spot.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">When the scarf is as thick as you&#8217;d like, wrap all the loops together with a scrap of fabric wound over the t shirt seams.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Have some spare sleeves?
