{"id":264,"date":"2012-05-14T10:05:05","date_gmt":"2012-05-14T15:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/?p=264"},"modified":"2015-02-24T14:12:23","modified_gmt":"2015-02-24T19:12:23","slug":"cotton-prices-wholesale-t-shirts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/cotton-prices-wholesale-t-shirts\/","title":{"rendered":"Cotton Prices Affect Wholesale T-Shirt Market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many of you know that cotton prices have had a major affect on the <a title=\"Wholesale T-Shirts\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\" target=\"_blank\">wholesale t-shirt<\/a> market the past few years.\u00a0 Most of the world\u2019s cotton is grown in China and Pakistan and both of these countries have been hard hit by severe weather conditions which negatively impacted the cotton crop.\u00a0 So what does this mean to you?\u00a0 Well&#8230;it\u2019s simply a matter of supply and demand.\u00a0 If there is less cotton crop, the supply is limited which drives the price up.\u00a0 So the same t-shirt you were purchasing 3 years ago may be 20% higher priced now.<\/p>\n<p><div id=\"attachment_265\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/t-shirt-cotton-prices.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-265\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-265\" title=\"wholesale t-shirt cotton prices\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/t-shirt-cotton-prices-300x275.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/t-shirt-cotton-prices-300x275.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.theadairgroup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/t-shirt-cotton-prices.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-265\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cotton Prices Affect Wholesale T-Shirt Market<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>T-Shirt factories like Hanes and Gildan have to pay more for their raw materials and must pass on this added expense to their customers.\u00a0 The good news is the worst is behind us we think.\u00a0 <a title=\"cotton prices\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cotton.org\/econ\/prices\/monthly.cfm\" target=\"_blank\">Cotton prices <\/a>have come back down but major t-shirt mills are still working through older inventory so we haven\u2019t&#8217;
